fifa world cup 2022-2

Originally, the World Cup 2022 was scheduled to take place in Japan. But due to the COVID situation in the country, it was withdrawn and scheduled to take place in the UAE. They will host the World Cup in the early months of 2022 as said by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Even more so, Gianni added, β€œIt was decided (at the FIFA Council meeting) that the Club World Cup 2021 will be played in early 2022, the precise dates are still to be defined, but the hosts after the withdrawal of Japan because of the pandemic, the hosts will be the UAE…”

Earlier UAE had already staged the tournament before in 2009, 2010, 2017, and 2018. Last year, the FIFA World Cup chose Japan to remain in the traditional seven-club event, which was originally scheduled for China in June 2021. But this was delayed too due to the pandemic situation.

World Cup 2022 Odds

The bookies are backing the battle between France and Brazil for the World Cup 2022 and England as the third favorite. Le Bleus, the World Cup holders, defeated Spain in the National League in the final in order to get the boost for the next year’s tournament in the winters. Brazil are building a squad to be feared and are undefeated in the South American qualifying.

Brazil and France seem to be 6/1 and England and Spain are at 7/1 in order to lift the FIFA trophy in Qatar.

Who will win the FIFA World Cup 2022?

Of course, the 2022 World Cup is still a little far away but we all know that the build-up for the tournament will begin early. In addition to this, the qualification stage is already underway for some continents.

Experts are aiming to make the right predictions for who will come out on the top of the battle to have the FIFA crown. No doubt, the usually suspected teams will make the first line, but there is always a little room for a bolt in the blue from other teams.

Who are the favorites to win the FIFA World Cup 2022?

It cannot be surely said which team seems to make for the World Cup 2022. But the likes of the situation say that Germany, France, Brazil, Spain, and Argentina are regarded as the best challengers.

As the reigning champions, France showed off a really excellent team and veterans of the 2018 victory- Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba, and Antonie Griezman. They are joined by a handful of young pretenders as the Euro 2022 provides the perfect primer to the team. With Les Bleus at 7/1, they are considered as the favorite and the closest thing to the outright favorites at the current point.

Now, following France, comes Brazil- the five times winner with 11/2. With this, they hope to put an end to the 20-year wait for the honor on the global stage once they reach Qatar. The focus on Brazil was mostly centered on Neymar in recent years. But, the dynamic squad managed to win the Copa America in the year 2019.

With great players like Richarlison, Phillippe Coutinho, and Alisson, Vinicius Jr. and Gabriel Martinelli are well equipped to take and mount the challenge. However, it would be interesting to see how these players manage to land the transition in defense as the generation of the stars seems to get off from the stage.

The European Heavyweights like Spain and Germany are regarded to win the FIFA World Cup 2022. As they had been crowned as the world champions in 2014, and with the embarrassment of the elimination in 2018, bringing them to the bottom in the group stage. This is something that will not stand and it is expected that Germany will correct it.

Spain hobbled through the group stage in 2018 and dropped into the last 16 stage- seeming them to be in disarray. As they had a pretty good failure in the tournament in Russia emphasizes the enhanced need to be better prepared in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Who are the World Cup 2022 Underdogs?

Outside of all the contenders, there are many underdogs that need to be kept an eye on. This includes Mexico, Uruguay, and Croatia. All these teams are perfect competitors in the tournament and each one shows off considerable football tradition with their elite level players on the world stage.

Also, the US National team is considered as another Underdog. Moreover, the increase in the popularity of football in the country brought great fortunes. Another team like Ukraine who beat South Korea in 2019 and Ecuador who finished third in the tournament which was unlikely as they made the top three. Qatar also has the advantage of having the tournament to be held on the home side.
